The MT 15 is a commanding 2-channel amplifier with balanced aggression and articulation. Powered by 6L6 tubes, the MT 15 delivers a bold, wide sound that lets you dig into tight rhythm work while also achieving soaring, singing lead tones—all from a single amp. Whether you're recording, rehearsing, writing, or playing a small venue, this amp delivers everything you need.
The design of the MT 15 began with heavier players in mind, but it ultimately offers far more versatility across genres. Like the PRS Archon, the MT 15 features five gain stages before the Master, delivering rich, saturated distortion. The gain channel produces a huge, massive tone with tight low end, while maintaining articulate note definition and outstanding lead clarity. The clean channel is bright and chimey, ideal for chord work and fingerstyle playing—with or without a pick. It also includes a push/pull boost control that adds a touch of overdrive for classic old-school crunch. Whatever tone you dial in, the MT 15 remains balanced across the frequency spectrum, offering a smooth, polished response without harshness.
Additional features include a series effects loop and rear-panel bias adjustment points for easier maintenance. Despite its 15-watt rating, the MT 15 feels more like a 50-watt amp in terms of punch and presence, making the half-power switch (reducing output to 7 watts) a very welcome addition. In short, the feature set, tonal depth, and raw power of this circuit make the MT 15 a true standout.
The MT 15 is the first signature amplifier from Mark Tremonti.
