Refined Tone for Professionals

Like its predecessor, the Katana-Artist MkII has been meticulously crafted for demanding professionals. The custom BOSS Waza speaker puts ultimate vintage rock tones at your fingertips, while the semi-closed cabinet structure delivers directional, punchy sound with rich low end and full mids. Each amp characteristic has been specifically tuned for optimal interaction with the speaker and cabinet.

Waza Speaker: Legendary Tone, Modern Power

The 12-inch Waza speaker is central to the powerful sound of the Katana-Artist MkII. Specially developed by BOSS, it delivers the wide dynamic response, smooth mids, and rich harmonics of the iconic 1960s 25-watt British stack speaker. Through detailed analysis of original speakers and careful selection of magnets, cone materials, and components, the Waza speaker revives the charm of this legendary design while increasing power handling up to 100 watts.

New Amp Characteristics and Effects

The Katana-Artist MkII includes the same structural enhancements as other Katana MkII models. Variations are now available for the five amp characteristics, providing ten distinct tonal options. With five simultaneous effect categories, you have the sound-shaping power of a large pedalboard built directly into the amp. Connecting to BOSS Tone Studio unlocks even deeper editing, with over 60 effect types that can be arranged in four different signal chains.

Detailed Tone-Shaping Tools

On the front panel, you’ll find controls exclusive to the Katana-Artist MkII. A three-position Contour button sculpts the core character of the sound, while three global EQ curves (adjustable in BOSS Tone Studio) allow precise tailoring to match your guitars and playing styles. A dedicated, footswitchable Solo Boost function is also available, with a front-panel knob for quick adjustments.

Built-In Dual Amp Functionality

New features make it easier than ever to use two Katana-Artist MkII amps together. With Dual Link, each amp can be configured independently and controlled from a GA-FC foot controller, allowing you to blend clean and distorted tones, create wet/dry setups, and more. Stereo Expand mode lets you designate one amp as master and the other as slave, distributing stereo Chorus, Delay, and Reverb effects across both amps for a wide, immersive soundstage.

Powerful Sound in Any Situation

Powered by BOSS Tube Logic, the Katana-Artist MkII delivers authentic tube-style output distortion characteristics, with tone becoming richer and response evolving as volume increases. Unlike traditional tube amps, the variable Power Control allows you to achieve optimal tone at various volume levels—without getting kicked out of the bar or your home. From stage to bedroom, you can dial in true cranked-tube tone.

One-Touch Recall of Custom Settings

With the Tone Setting memory system, you can store your favorite amp characteristics and effects for instant recall. Once your sound is dialed in using the front-panel controls, simply press a button to save the settings. Eight Tone Setting memories (two banks of four) are available and easily accessible from the panel. For hands-free control during performance, connect external footswitches or a GA-FC controller.

Mix-Ready Tones

The Line, USB, and headphones/recording outputs feature mic’d cabinet simulation, allowing you to send mix-ready amp tones directly to a PA system, DAW, or headphones. The direct sound can be shaped with three different Air Feel settings accessible in BOSS Tone Studio. Two-channel USB operation provides true stereo with modulation, Delay, Reverb, and EQ from the Katana-Artist MkII.

A Compact Amp Solution

The optional GA-FC foot controller is the perfect partner for the Katana-Artist MkII. It connects with a single cable—no external power required—and features a compact footprint. With six switches, you can recall Tone Settings and toggle the five effect sections. The GA-FC also supports external footswitches and expression pedals with default assignments such as Tap Tempo, bank selection, volume control, and Pedal FX. Assignments can be customized in BOSS Tone Studio, with up to three parameters controlled by a single pedal.

BOSS Tone Studio Enhancements

BOSS Tone Studio has evolved alongside the Katana MkII series. The interface has been refreshed, and many parameters are now placed on the main screen for easier operation. A new Pedal FX category simplifies assigning Wah and Bend effects to an expression pedal. And if you own a first-generation Katana amp, you can import your patches directly into the Katana-Artist MkII.

This place rocks! I was looking for a very specific guitar all across Canada and I found it in this gem of a shop located in Quebec. The people I dealt with there, namely Eric, were absolutely amazing. Very accommodating and helpful. I would buy from here again in a heartbeat. The guitar arrived in Victoria on time, quickly, very well packaged and I'm not even kidding when I say it was perfectly in tune out of the case and beautifully set up. I don't think that's ever happened in all my years of buying instruments. Thank you to Gérald Musique!

I took a chance buying a guitar online from this shop and it's by far the best guitar I own. Made in Canada beauty, the Godin Session 59T. The price was incredible as well as they took a very reasonable offer. Everything about the guitar was perfect including the carrying case it came in. Absolutely no complaints and I would love to buy from this shop again.
