Crafted using a unique pairing of Lutz Spruce and cocobolo that set it apart from its rosewood counterpart, this 814ce LTD is an aesthetic and sonic masterpiece that’s made to perform thanks to exclusive Taylor Expression System 2 electronics. This special Limited Edition package is rounded out by a fine selection of luxurious appointments. A true performer, looker, and a straight-up incredible-sounding acoustic, the 814ce LTD Cocobolo will make an outstanding addition to any professional acoustic player’s collection.
Lutz Spruce Meets Cocobolo
Alone, both Lutz Spruce and cocobolo are loved for their distinctive tonal and aesthetic qualities. Lutz Spruce boasts a slightly wide, more uniform grain, which gives this top a really nice sonic response and its beautiful visual appeal. Cocobolo really makes a visual statement with its distinct figure, but as far as sound, it produces deeps lows that are a bit brighter than rosewood with some extra punch and chime on the treble notes compared to rosewood. When these tonewoods are fused into Taylor’s Grand Auditorium body shape, they deliver a complex, bold sound with a nice low-end and a gorgeous top-end shimmer, making this 814ce LTD Cocobolo a fantastic instrument for a wide range of players and playing styles.
