From his work as the drummer for the legendary band Nirvana to his achievements as a guitarist, singer, and songwriter with Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl is an alternative rock icon who needs no introduction. A longtime Gibson player, his previous Gibson signature guitars have become highly sought after, often commanding premium prices on the used market.
Now, Epiphone is proud to once again partner with the Gibson Custom Shop to release the Dave Grohl DG-335. This model blends key design elements from the ES-335 and Trini Lopez guitars—exactly as requested by Dave and expected by fans.
The DG-335 features a semi-hollow ES-style body with bound diamond-shaped sound holes, a one-piece mahogany neck with an elliptical profile, a Trini Lopez–style headstock fitted with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners, an Indian laurel fingerboard, and mother-of-pearl split diamond inlays.
For tone, it’s equipped with Dave Grohl’s preferred Gibson USA Burstbucker pickups, with a Burstbucker 2 in the neck and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge. The electronics include CTS potentiometers, Mallory capacitors, a Switchcraft 3-way toggle switch, and a Switchcraft 1/4" output jack, delivering classic Gibson USA tone and reliability.
One of the most requested models in Epiphone’s history, the DG-335 ships in an Epiphone Dave Grohl hardshell case, ready for stage and studio alike.
