Epiphone’s long-standing relationship with Les Paul began in 1940, when Les built one of the world’s first solidbody electric guitars while working nights at Epiphone’s original Manhattan factory. That instrument, famously nicknamed “The Log,” went on to inspire the Les Paul Standard, widely regarded as one of the greatest electric guitars ever made.
The Les Paul Standard 60s models from the Inspired by Gibson™ Collection faithfully recreate the look, feel, and tone of early 1960s Les Pauls. They feature a mahogany body with a maple cap, and models with translucent finishes include an AAA flame maple veneer, delivering the unmistakable classic flame-top appearance.
The mahogany neck is shaped with a fast and comfortable 60s SlimTaper profile and topped with a laurel fingerboard featuring pearloid trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets, providing smooth, modern playability. Grover Rotomatic tuning machines and a Graph Tech nut ensure rock-solid tuning stability, keeping you focused on playing rather than constant retuning.
Sonically, the Les Paul Standard 60s is powered by a perfectly matched set of Epiphone ProBucker™ pickups. A ProBucker 2 in the neck delivers warm, articulate tones, while the slightly hotter ProBucker 3 in the bridge adds extra bite and punch. Each pickup is wired to its own dedicated volume and tone controls, featuring CTS potentiometers for dynamic response, tonal flexibility, and authentic vintage character.
