Released in 1974, the Roland RE-201 Space Echo stands among the most legendary and sought-after effects in music history. This magnetic tape classic remained in production for 14 years, and its rhythmic echoes, warmth, and musical quirks have inspired musicians and engineers for over four decades.
Through intensive research and cutting-edge innovation, the RE-202 faithfully recreates the authentic sound and behavior of the Space Echo. Built by the original brand, it captures every detail — tape transport, motor characteristics, spring reverb, and colored preamp circuit — while adding modern enhancements for today’s players.

Tape echo was the first delay effect in audio history. Unlike modern digital processors, it uses a motor-driven magnetic tape system, producing warmth, saturation, compression, and evolving modulation from wow, flutter, and mechanical variation.

Three playback heads enabled dense rhythmic echoes. A free-running tape system minimized wear. Built-in spring reverb and an analog preamp shaped its iconic sound.

Analyzed from multiple vintage units — including Roland/BOSS archives — the RE-202 replicates nonlinear behaviors, tape path, motor fluctuation, preamp coloration, and spring reverb response with newly developed algorithms.

All original controls remain, including the 12-position selector. Authentic pitch shifts via Repeat Rate and runaway feedback via Intensity are faithfully recreated. Saturation and Wow & Flutter controls emulate tape compression and modulation.

This place rocks! I was looking for a very specific guitar all across Canada and I found it in this gem of a shop located in Quebec. The people I dealt with there, namely Eric, were absolutely amazing. Very accommodating and helpful. I would buy from here again in a heartbeat. The guitar arrived in Victoria on time, quickly, very well packaged and I'm not even kidding when I say it was perfectly in tune out of the case and beautifully set up. I don't think that's ever happened in all my years of buying instruments. Thank you to Gérald Musique!

I took a chance buying a guitar online from this shop and it's by far the best guitar I own. Made in Canada beauty, the Godin Session 59T. The price was incredible as well as they took a very reasonable offer. Everything about the guitar was perfect including the carrying case it came in. Absolutely no complaints and I would love to buy from this shop again.
