In the fall of 1951, the Fender Telecaster was born. Inspired by emerging technology sweeping across America—most notably television “telecasts”—Leo Fender’s new creation became part of that same forward-looking movement. History has proven it beyond doubt: the Telecaster is one of the most played, most iconic, and most revered instruments in popular music.

The Fender Custom Shop pays tribute to this groundbreaking model with a painstakingly accurate homage to the original. The Limited Edition 1951 Telecaster features a two-piece select ash body, a one-piece AA flame quartersawn maple neck with a 10/’56 “V” profile, and a 7.25"–9.5" vintage compound-radius fingerboard with 21 narrow tall frets, delivering authentic feel and effortless playability.

Its hand-wound ’50–’51 Blackguard pickups are wired to ’51 modified Nocaster® circuitry, complete with a bridge/neck blend pot and a brighter neck-position rhythm setting, closely mirroring the original design. Additional vintage-correct details include a black phenolic pickguard, ’51–’54 Tele bridge with brass saddles, vintage-style tuners, bone nut, and disk string tree. A deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity complete this exceptional Custom Shop instrument.
